Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) consists of radio waves & powerful magnets to prepare detailed images of the body. The MRI scanner does not use any sort of x-radiation or ionizing radiation such as x-rays or a Cat Scan does. In order to get pictures of brain, MRI scanner uses strong magnet, & radio-frequency antennas to spin tiny atoms present inside the body to assist them in sending “signals” back to more antennas that listens for those signals. Then, MRI scanner sends analog wavelengths to computers to convert them to digital signals and create computerized images which creates highly detailed images of brain.
